W Hotel and Market Restaurant Opens Today


The W Hotel, located in the Theater District, opens today.

The new hotel features: SWEAT® Fitness Center, free wi-fi in public areas, Residences at W Boston, Bliss Spa and much more.

Besides the hotel itself, Market, the hotel's restaurant, also opens today. I've read that the menu is a mix of French, Asian, and Italian flavors and the bar offers some nice tasty treats. W Hotel and Market are located at 100 Stuart Street, Boston. Photo courtesy of W Hotels.

Enjoy Lunchtime Pumpkin Fun on the Greenway Today!

Those fun peeps at the Rose Kennedy Greenway have another event for you today - pumpkin craving and apple cider sippin'. Fun.

Today, form 12:30pm-2:00pm at Dewey Square, enjoy fall's best offerings direct from local farms: pumpkins and hot apple cider. Stop by the Market and decorate a pumpkin from market regular, Keown Orchards. While you're there, warm your senses with a sample of hot cider.

All participants and market guests will receive a complimentary Greenway tote bag to carry home your masterpiece or market purchases. Pumpkin artists are welcome to take their creations with them. Any unclaimed pumpkins will be displayed for the day and composted later at an area farm.

On Sunday, November 8, at Church Boston, enjoy food from up and coming chefs, such as: Matthew Barros (Myers & Chang), Jamie Bissonnette (Toro/Coppa), Will Gilson (Garden at the Cellar), Andy Husbands (Tremont 647) and Tim Weichmann (T.W. Piattini Gelateria and Cafe Opens on Newbury Street

So I am in love with anything not ice cream lately (you could probably spot me in an of the Berryline's around our area) so I'm glad to see gelato is getting its due. So head on over to Piattini.

Besides gelato, Piattini serves lunch and dinner, with salads and pasta lunch meals below $10 and dinner meals are around the same bracket. The cafe also has an extensive wine list and inexpensive cocktail list. Piattini opened at 224 Newbury Street, near the Fairfield St intersection.

Boston Shaker's Moves to Davis Sq

Boston Shaker's, a little cocktail outpost in Union Square's Grand is getting its own digs in November in Davis.

The move will allow the store to provide more cocktail ingredients, more glassware, more tools and more books. Expect more classes, events and tastings, too. Boston Shakers is hoping to be open in November at 69 Holland Street.

Head to the Festival on the Greenway Tomorrow!

Heads Up: This Weekend's Harvest Fest

Arts at the Armory is hosting Harvest Fest this Saturday. Enjoy music, fashion show from local boutiques and more.

On Saturday, October 3 from 1-8PM, Harvest Fest will bring together some of the finest artistic, culinary and musical talents from in and around the city of Somerville. Samples and demonstrations from local microbreweries will be presented throughout the day. Admission is free, but for food and drinks, you must get a wristband ($12).
