Along Cambridge Street, in the old Benatti location, a new Asian restaurant opened in Cambridge called East by Northeast. The restaurant is small restaurant that's a nice addition to the neighborhood. Click on "Read more" to hear the interview!
Inman/East Cambridge is known to foodies, and East by Northeast fits in perfectly. The chef has experience working at Hungry Mother and other local restaurants, so they know the scene well. Food ranges in price form $4 for starters (carrot chips are recommended) to $9-$12 for soups, noodles and dumplings. The pork belly sandwiches (under the pancake section) are delicious - it's been a long time since I've wanted seconds of something. The specials are good, but I highly recommend the homemade dumplings.
The space is small - a cozy 25-seats - and last week it was filled with local Cambridge folks. The servings are small, so we recommend (as the staff did) to share some items - think Asian tapas!
East by Northeast is located at 1128 Cambridge Street, near the Columbia St intersection. Dinner starts around 5:00pm.
