Restaurant News

Apparently I'm not the only one waiting for Tory Row to open in Harvard Square. Well, just an update for you - it has opened, but it hasn't been a week yet (aka, Bostongal is going to wait). But the restaurant is featuring exposed brick walls and Shepard Fairey paintings. The restaurant will be opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner with moving to dinner entrees around 5:00pm for this week. The kitchen will be open until midnight regardless. Click here for more info from The Thrillist. I'll give a review in a week.

In other Cambridge restaurant news, the Friendly Toast, a Portsmouth, NH haunt is definitely opening up in Kendall Square. One Kendall Square to be exact. For those who have not been up to the original Toast in New Hampshire, it will be the retro diner we all need. The owner hopes it will be open by the end of the month. I just like that they have green eggs and ham.

Lastly, the former News Restaurant, or what I like to call the "place you go for late night fries" is getting a new venue. Besides the usual billiards and lounge, the Improper Bostonian reports that Splash will also have a "rooftop deck outfitted with cabanas, beds, and of course, a fountain." Splash will continue with News late menu until 5:00am, with burgers and a $20 breakfast buffet offered after 2:00am. Splash will open Memorial Day weekend.
