Tupelo Review

Us bloggers had to meet, so we decided to have a dinner meeting at Tupelo. Located right in Inman Square, Tupelo is the Southern joint that filled where Magnolia left.

We ordered the fried oysters with green tomatoes (the latter which we saw very little of) and the turkey meatballs for appetizers - and the meatballs were good. My jambalaya (which changes daily) was delicious with grits and shrimp, but the rest of the crew found their hearty chicken and pork to be on the salty side. The beer was good and the dessert menu features Toscanini's ice cream and other favorites like pecan pie, banana pudding and chocolate bread pudding. In comparison to another southern favorite, Hungry Mother, Tupelo still needs some fine tuning. But it's not even a week open, so I'll give it a break and go back for the bread pudding. Tupelo is open Tuesdays-Sundays, 5:00pm-10:00pm and is located at 1193 Cambridge Street. For more photos, check out our facebook page.
