After many rumors that Shakespeare on the Common was dying, it's coming back this year on July 18th with As You Like It (it's a comedy - click here for the synopsis).
As You Like It will be staged at the Parkman Bandstand on Boston Common July 18 through August 3, 2008, with two dress rehearsals open to the public on July 16 and 17. Remember - it's FREE!

I like to think that all the Shakespeare geeks made enough of a fuss last year about Citi crying poor while still paying out massive executive bonuses :).
My wife and I hit up PF Chang's before the show for takeout and make a picnic out of it. We're going on the 26th.
