Restaurant Gossip

Owner of Dorchester's Ashmont Grill is opening a new Italian project with pizza, paninis and pastas. Tavolo (the project's name) is slated to open in August and will be located @ 1900 Dorcester Ave, and the kitchen will be open from 11:00am-11:00pm, daily.


South End Buttery (on Shawmut Ave.) will be expanding in August with a full bar and a committment to keeping dishes under $20. Hangar steak for under $20? Sign me up! The Buttery will also have brunch and lunch menus. The cafe is also dog friendly, too!

Stella (Washington St.) in the South End has opened Stella Cafe right next door. Open from 6am-6pm (Monday-Friday), the cafe will feature breakfast, lunch & pasteries (like cupcakes!). The cafe is also planning to sell prepared foods.

Keep your eyes open for the new North End hot spot Nico Restorante.

Sel de la Terre already is located near the Aquarium here in Boston (and @ the Natick Collection), but they are planning to open a second location in Back Bay @ 774 Boylston St and it will be open in September.
