The Globe reported that Boloco is closing its Davis Square location...that building (where Carberry's once was) has now gone through 3 tenants in the past 5-6 years...and Saladworks, a salad chain from Pennsylvania, is targeting the Greater Boston area, specifically Cambridge and Back Bay. Lastly, the BBJ is reporting that L’Espalier will close at 30 Gloucester Street (last day is August 30th) and move to the new Mandarin Oriental Boston Hotel & Residences on Sept. 15, 2008. This is where the new Sel de la Terre will also be opening.

That Boloco location in Davis really is just a terrible location. It's not really in Davis, it's not on a part of Elm that draws other foot traffic, and the space is too big for a cafe/sandwich/wrap type of place.
Now with the Boloco experience combined with Carberrys and O'Naturals beforehand, I couldn't imagine another restaurant ever opening there.
